I have an ARRIS 6190 which works fine. If I buy the S33, do I just switch it out, or do I need to call Spectrum to set it up? null

You will need to contact them (I have Comcast not Spectrum). The modem ID numbers will be different. Depending on whether you have a contract or not will also determine whether you can get customer help. If your provider has a smartphone app, you may be able to use that to set up the modem without calling them.

You will need to enter the mac id on the modem if Spectrum has an online tool, otherwise you will have to call. The mac id is on the modem but also on the inner box that the modem came in and on the instruction booklet.

You may need to call to set it up. I had the same arris before buying this one, and I had to call. Definitely worth it though.
