We have RCN for our internet and phone, and I am looking for a cable modem to replace the one that we are renting. Would this cable modem be able to handle the internet and phone service that I currently have? If no, what would you suggest?

If the phone line plugs into your current modem then no. You have to use RCN equipment. If there's a separate box that connects between your phone to your router then yes you can use this modem. Modem requirements are here: https://www.rcn.com/hub/help/bring-your-own-modem/
