• No. This modem does not have a phone port. It does however give you all the internet speed you are paying for. Speed tests with the Xfinity gateway ran about 40 Mbps or less. This modem paired with a Netgear R7000P router, the same speed tests run nearly 250 Mbps even on wifi.

• I think optimum cable company can give you a triple package what include TV, internet and phone. if this is what you means with triple play, this will work only for the TV, internet part. the phone lines will not works. this modem is only for internet, soes not have a rj11 jack for phones lines if you dont care about the phone line, this isi perfect. if you need to have a phone line, this arris will not work for your needs. buy a magic jack and transfer the phone number and use the IP phone line and pay only $35 per year for the phone if you need it. good luck
