An (e)MTA includes data connections and a cat-3 phone connector that activates the telephone wiring inside the home. This unit is not an MTA. This unit will support voice services that run on IP like Vonage (VoIP) and other internet voice services. The VoIP internet voice providers typically require another type adapter that plugs into your home router then outputs into your home telephone wiring.
