A:AnswerThe battery life of the camera depends on your usage and how often it is triggered to record. The application will alert you if you are considered a user with high usage and will not last as long as the mfr recommends. You can set the sensitivity to a lower setting so it doesn't record everything, and will let you have a longer battery life. The unit takes two AA batteries, so it is fairly inexpensive and easy to replace. I believe they state the batteries will last 2 years but in my case, where it is at the front door, the mailman, birds people in and out create a lot of activity and I'm sure I'll be lucky to see 1 year but I think it's worth it for peace of mind. There is also a setting for the duration of how long you want to record and that too will affect the battery life. Good luck!
A:AnswerWe currently only offer our cloud storage option for the Blink camera systems accessible via the Blink App. Blink’s server provides each Sync Module storage for up to 7,200 total seconds of video (or 1,440 five-second events) for as long as you like (no expiration). If you reach your storage limit, it will automatically delete the oldest clip in order to make room for the next one. You are also able to set clips to automatically delete based on a time limit. By default, this is set to 14 days, but you can also change that to 3 days, 7 days, 30 days, and 1 year. Any important clips can also be saved to your mobile device at anytime by using the share feature on the clip within the clip roll folder of the APP.
A:AnswerIt will definitely detect motion at that distance. You may have to adjust the sensitivity, but I was receiving alerts for cars passing by my house at an approximate distance of 75 plus feet.
A:AnswerI have one mounted on a post on my front porch. I can see my sliding glass door and a glider that my husband sits in. He is the reason I needed the cameras, so I can see him if he falls, or if he can’t get up. My porch is 10’ wide and I can see our truck in our carport, at least 50’ away.
A:AnswerThe Blink cameras have a field of view of 110 degrees - in the daytime, they provide enough visibility to identify an individual’s facial features that is 20ft away, recognize a person that is 32ft away, and beyond that depends on exact lighting conditions. At night, they provide visibility up to 20ft away depending on exact conditions. The range of the motion sensor is up to 15-20ft depending on exact conditions.
A:AnswerWe mounted ours at the eaves and over the doors. They can be adjusted to pick up a wide range. We bought black, but I have seen them in white also. If I had seen the white first I would have bought white.
A:AnswerYou are able to purchase and use just the cameras from any Blink System package to add them to an existing System or you can set-up and access separate Blink Systems from the same account by using our multi-system support feature.
A:AnswerWhile this camera is motion sensitive it does have a live option. I would suggest getting the power adapter so you don’t burn up your battery. In the event of a power outage it will work on the battery.
