The battery life of the camera depends on your usage and how often it is triggered to record. The application will alert you if you are considered a user with high usage and will not last as long as the mfr recommends. You can set the sensitivity to a lower setting so it doesn't record everything, and will let you have a longer battery life. The unit takes two AA batteries, so it is fairly inexpensive and easy to replace. I believe they state the batteries will last 2 years but in my case, where it is at the front door, the mailman, birds people in and out create a lot of activity and I'm sure I'll be lucky to see 1 year but I think it's worth it for peace of mind. There is also a setting for the duration of how long you want to record and that too will affect the battery life. Good luck!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The book says the batteries will last 2years. I have only installed these cameras now for a couple of weeks with no signs of failure. It does say the more sensitive you set them can affect the battery life. I would keep the sensitive setting at low, they pick up motion very easy. They are working very well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. With regular use*, your Blink cameras will last a very, very long time on a single set of 2 AA lithium batteries. This incredibly long battery life is made possible through a proprietary chip technology available only in Blink cameras. Here are a few things that may affect battery life: -Placing cameras in high traffic areas and leaving them armed all the time -Using Alkaline or rechargeable batteries. (We DO NOT recommend this) -Slow Internet connection speeds -Extreme Temperatures -Extended use of Live View -Weak Camera signal strength between sync module and wifi router -DO NOT use AA Lithium Ion or Li-Ion batteries as these carry a higher voltage and may cause issues with your camera. - use of Enhanced mode on Blink XT *Two AA lithium metal batteries last up to two years, based on typical use of Live View, motion-activated recording, and two-way talk (only available on XT2). Battery life will vary based on device settings, use, and environmental factors. Use of two-way talk will reduce battery life.
