The continuous drain will operate throughout the day as long as the appliance is collecting water. The bucket should only fill when the continuous drain feature is not being used. A:AnswerCurious question being that my Amana which died after 7 years always was dry. I just looked and there is water in the reservoir. I have always had it on the pump function, and I have seen water pump out of it. But it's has not indicated a full reservoir yet. My guess is the pump turns on after a certain amount of water fills up in the reservoir.
