Yes it will pump against gravity. Wherever the end of the hose it comes with is placed. You can download the manual as a pdf and read it as well.

The continuous drain will operate throughout the day as long as the appliance is collecting water. The bucket should only fill when the continuous drain feature is not being used. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it does. I have had this for 4 weeks now and it drains into a sink just fine. Because of the pump the unit drains as needed on its own. The condensation drains into the pump, not the bucket.
