Why would i purchase the Garmin vs the Fitbit. null

It does so much more than a fit bit. You can answer your phone or stop it from ringing with your Garmin. You can read your text messages. You can see the weather for the day, the date, play your last music that you played. It has lots more to offer

I choose to go with the Garmin approach because of all the software and technology you can use on your smartphone. However I DO NOT recommend purchasing the Garmin smart watches. I owned mine for 6 months and the strap broke while exercising. A simple fix right? Wrong, Garmin does not sell replacement straps and told me I could have the watched replace for more than half retailer price. I would not recommend the Garmin. Go with Fitbit

Because it's waterproof to 50 m.

The selling point for me was the fact that the Garmin is waterproof. The backlight on the Fitbit seemed brighter but waterproof was more important.

If u don't want to have to hit the face every time u want to see what time it is, get the garmin. The face is much larger than the fitbit, therefore much easier to read. My friend who just bought a fit it after I bought my garmin wishes she would have gotten the garmin. They didn't have it in her size so bought the fit it instead.
