  • QuestionHow do you get the water levels to increase in the washer?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi - The washer has auto-load sensing with 4 water levels. The washer will automatically measure the load size and add just the right amount of water (Precise Fill auto-load sensing) or choose your own- Small, Medium, Large, Super. For reference, see page 8 of the Owner's Manual ("E" Load Size): https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90581-3.pdf - New GE Appliances washer models meet or exceed the latest energy and water efficiency requirements. Therefore, you may notice that your washer fills with less water than your prior model did. This is normal. GE Appliances washers are designed for and are thoroughly tested using modern water levels and will provide the exceptional cleaning you have come to expect from GE Appliances. Keep in touch! Sue

  • QuestionIs this 120v or 240v? It says washer is 120 and dryer is 240...

    Asked by ML.

    • Answer Hi ML- Unitized washer dryer units only have one power cord. There is not a separate cord for the washer and the dryer. Electric Models should be connected to a dedicated 120/240V 30-amp time-delay fuse or circuit breaker. The 240V will power the dryer, and the unit internally steps it down to 110/120V for the washer. The power cord should be purchased separately. • QuestionDoes this allow you to open lid after wash cycle has started to add a sock if you dropped it or dies the lid lock the entire time ? My unit I have now just uses lid lock on spin cycle.

    Asked by Person.

    • Answer Hi- Models with Precise Fill (load sensing) will lock during the load sensing period and during the spin cycle. Pausing the machine will allow you to open the lid. During the spin cycle, pausing the washer does unlock the lid, but you must wait until the basket has completely coasted down to a stop before the lid unlocks, for safety reason. • QuestionThe inside of my door frame is 27". Will this unit fit thru?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Yes, the actual unit is just under 27" wide. But, be careful - - there is a rod near the bottom that protects the washer during shipping that sticks out enough to cause a problem with so little clearance. By removing the rod, you will be able to make it, but be sure you treat the unit gently at that point to prevent internal damage during final positioning. Good luck!

  • QuestionWhen setting a washing or drying cycle, does it matter which way you turn the knob? Clockwise or counter clockwise?

    Asked by DT.

    • Answer I repair dryers and if you take apart a dryer timer and turn the shaft it is obvious that although you can turn it in either direction it doesnt really like counter clockwise. Going counter clockwise will shorten the life of the timer. If you go past the setting you wish to select just continue around another turn.
