  • QuestionDoes this unit have a 6' drain hose, 3' metal braided water supply hoses, and a 4 prong electrical cord?

    Asked by BostonBrittney.

    • Answer Hi BostonBrittney - Model GUD27ESPMDG is equipped with a 70" drain hose. Water supply hoses and electrical cord are sold separately. This appliance should be connected to an individual, properly-grounded branch circuit with 120/240V or 120/208V single-phase 60 Hz electrical service and should be protected by 30-amp time-delay fuses or circuit breakers KW Rating per voltage (240/208). This appliance is manufactured with neutral connected to the frame. See Quick Specs at this link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=GUD27ESSM_27GSSM_C3_17.pdf - Also, we suggest viewing the Installation Guide at the following link for complete details: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-16781-3.pdf - Thanks for choosing GE! • QuestionI was told there was no weight (cinder blocks?) in the bottom and it “walked” during operation. Any comment or confirmation of this?

    Asked by Mike.

    • Answer Hi Mike - Thanks for considering GE! This unit does not have a cinder block. All current GE Appliances washer tubs move freely within our exclusive auto balance suspension system. It is a rod and spring floating suspension, designed to withstand extensive out of balance situations without the need for an "out of balance" switch. During an out of balance load, the basket is allowed to "float" forward and backward, side to side, and up and down, yet it never touches the floor nor is it even connected to the floor. As a result, the clothes basket can move freely, and this is normal. Also, the balance ring allows smooth operation and prevents the washer from knocking or walking. It allows the washer to go into a full speed spin with a 5 lb. out-of-balance load and the washer remains still. The balance ring is an enclosed plastic container that is partially filled with a salt water solution. The two halves of the balance ring are welded together to form a permanent seal. It is attached to the inner clothes basket and allows the basket to spin smoothly if an uneven load creates an out-of-balance situation. • QuestionThere is always LINT on our clothes after washing them. It's more visible on the dark clothes and we tried many things (vinegar, separating colors)...ANY SUGGESTIONS?

    Asked by ile28.

    • Answer Hi ile28- Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your washer. We can certainly understand your concern regarding lint. The clothes coming out of washers will have more lint on them than previous model washers; this is normal. It is the function of the dryer to remove the remaining lint from the clothes, not the washer. We suggest viewing the following link for tips- LAUNDRY LINT CONCERNS AND SOLUTIONS: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17430 - We hope these tips are helpful. • Questioncan you open lid during wash cycles

    Asked by me.

    • Answer Hi - Thanks for choosing GE Model # GUD27ESSMWW! Yes, you can open the lid during the wash cycle, however this washer has a security system that prevents opening the lid during the spin cycle. The lid lock prevents anyone (especially children) from reaching into the washer while the basket is spinning. The lid lock will release within 5 seconds after the basket stops spinning. Also, the water fill will continue with the lid opened, except when Precise Fill (on some models) is selected as the load size. The lid must be closed to continue filling when Precise Fill (on some models) is selected. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com for all your appliance needs! Sue

  • QuestionI only have 120 volts available. Will this model work with that ?

    Asked by Morpheus.

    • Answer Hi Morpheus - Thanks for considering our GE Model GUD27ESSMWW! This unit will not operate on 120V. Unitized washer dryer units only have one power cord. There is not a separate cord for the washer and the dryer. The 240/208V will power the dryer, and the unit internally steps it down to 110/120V for the washer. This appliance should be connected to an individual, properly-grounded branch circuit with 240V or 208V single-phase 60 Hz electrical service and should be protected by 30-amp time-delay fuses or circuit breakers KW Rating per voltage (240/208). Power cord should be purchased separately. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue

    Asked by PreFix.

    • Answer If I remember right, it cost an extra $25 or so to have them take the old unit out and haul it away.. they did, and in record time.. AND they told me my not so old dryer vent was in perfect condition so I could take back the new one I had to purchase and get a refund, which I did. Worth every penny!

  • QuestionI noticed that there is a plug below the dryer that looks like a telephone outlet or ethernet outlet. What is it and what is it for? Thanks.

    Asked by CleanComfort.

    • Answer Hello CleanComfort - Thank you for your question; we are happy to help! Current appliances have a data port (like an RJ jack or ethernet port) that allows the appliance to be tested or serviced more easily. This port is used by GE Appliances factory technicians to plug in their diagnostic equipment when needed. If the model has optional WiFi Connect capabilities, it is also where you plug in the optional Wifi ConnectPlus module. We are glad you checked. Olga

  • QuestionRE: Dedicates. My previous stackable had one speed for the agitator and simply washed dedicates in less time while frequently stopping the agitator which was harsh on the clothing. Does this machine have different agitator speeds? Explain in detail

    Asked by SpecialK.

    • Answer Hi SpecialK - The washer has 1 Wash/Spin Speed. Delicates is same speed as Whites / Colors, but with a softer agitation pattern. It reverses agitation direction less often (less strokes per minute) and turns in a smaller arc before reversing. • QuestionWhat is the total depth needed for this unit. We have a total depth from wall to door of 31 inches. Thanks JC

    Asked by JC.

    • Answer Hi JC - The unit is 30 7/8" deep. For side venting, 3 additional inches of room depth are needed versus the unit depth shown in the manual. The vent needs to go down first and then to the left or to the right. One elbow (plus the straight ductwork) is enough to make the side venting. • QuestionHow many years does this unit las?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi - Thanks for your interest! It is not possible to determine the product failure rate, lifespan, life expectancy, or life cycle of an appliance, even an approximate age. There are many variables involved, like: frequency of use, type of use, location of appliance (ex. high humidity; near the ocean; etc.), care, and maintenance. We are very interested in supplying consumers with a quality product that delivers the expected performance. You should expect many years of service from your GE Unitized Laundry Center.
