Unless the vent from the dryer to the wall is exactly lined up, yes you will definitely need more space. Even if it lines up directly I suspect you will still need some space foe the “hose”. Our vent in the wall is not lined up so we needed enough room for the vent hose/pipe has to have room to attach and “curve”.
