A:AnswerThanks for trying to answer. The link you posted goes to a silver stainless steel model that is different and does not show an option for the black model. The only place I have seen an advertisement for the black model is Best Buy. I’m guessing the black model is specific to Best Buy and not sold or supported directly by GE anywhere else.
A:AnswerNo. Water is placed in the built-in reservoir or an attached side-tank. Doesn't seem like it would be an issue to have plumbed, but isn't marketed or designed for that.
A:AnswerReplying to GE….I’ve already called that number and spoken with. Customer Service twice, I’ve even spoken with the folks in Wi-Fi support and I was also given a number for a company in my area that services GE appliances, but they don’t work on the Opal. Thanks anyway though.
A:AnswerWe’re so sorry to hear you’ve had trouble with your Opal and can understand your concern. Please reach us via social media and we’ll be happy to help troubleshoot further. You can also reach out to our Opal Support Line at 1-866-907-6718. Best wishes. -Gina@GEA
A:AnswerMy ice maker ran water for about an hour or two. Not exactly sure how long it took to make ice. I left after cleaning it multiple times and turning it on. I did wonder why water was flowing and not just being stored in the unit until ice was made.
A:AnswerALL pure essential oils erode anything made from petrochemicals, including all plastics. However, oils containing citrus are particularly "corrosive", as are cinnamon, oregano and clove. Essential oils come in glass bottles for a good reason.
A:AnswerYou can just fill the tank when it runs out. The side tank + internal reservoir hold about 1 gallon of water & it will run until it's nearly dry.
Once it's empty, it will light up letting you know you need to fill the water tank.
We've had it run down a few times, but I just glance at it some times & fill up the tank if I notice it's nearly empty most of the time.
A:AnswerOpal 2.0 out of box normally has made perfect cubed ice.
We purchased a side water tank adapter and as soon as we installed it the shaved ice started. Tried several cycles with and without the side tank. default= cubed. sidetank= shaved
