However, the included power adapter is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use. We suggest using a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately). Contact your retailer for inquiries. A:AnswerHey there! We appreciate your inquiry. The Nest Cam (battery) can run on battery alone and doesn't require a nearby electrical socket, which is ideal for outdoor use since it's designed to withstand elements. Meanwhile, indoor cameras are designed for inside use only. While you can point an indoor camera out a window to view what’s happening outside, this can impact your camera’s video quality or Night Vision. The window glass can create reflections, and your view is limited by the size and location of the window. A:AnswerHey there, Michael1. Thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, the speaker won't notify you of any activity. However, you can choose which events your camera can detect and record (people, motion, package, etc.). From there, you (and each member of your home) can decide which of those events to get notifications for. If an event is turned off, you won’t get notifications for that kind of activity. You can also change the settings like adjusting video quality, wake-up sensitivity, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. A:AnswerAs long as the camera is on a mobile network it can be viewed from any distantce. Battery is rated for up to 30 days. For my use it only lasted 7-10 days.
