- Answer Hello Cam, Thank you for your interest in the 55H9G. You would not adjust the Digital Audio Out settings as that is for when you have a soundbar connected via Optical cable. QuestionHaving issues getting the H9G 65" TV to output 5.1 when connected to vizio smartcast 5.1 setup via HDMI ARC and streaming from apps in the OS (VUDU, Google Play). Surround sound works fine with xbox (connected directly to the soundbar via optical audio).

QuestionI hope Hisense made enough of this model. This H9g rocks any TV out there including Samsung,Sony LG and Vizio,and TCL .And this H9G is so close to a oled its not funny,Hisense killed it this year..... thanks

- Answer I have this hooked up to a vizio 5.1 sound bar and it passes through pretty much everything to the sound bar via optical. I found this, hopefully it helps answer your question.. This TV can pass both DTS and Dolby Digital via ARC or optical, which is great, but it doesn't support eARC

QuestionI just got this TV and I'd like to connect my RCA sound bar to it. It doesn't have HDMI hookups but AV Cables. I plugged the red and white cables to the back of the TV in the red and white ports and get no sound. What am I doing wrong?

QuestionHas anyone successfully connected to sound bar via optical cable? I have tried, can see the Red light, but can’t send sound through the sound bar . Eve with TV speaker off, the only option I can choose under Audio Output is TV Speaker.

After connecting your sound bar vis optical cable go to the Settings / Menu > Sound > Advanced Settings > Digital Audio Out to select Dolby Digital to receive the Dolby Digital audio.
