Sorry I have no idea about your local laws and if this would meet your rebate requirements , in general I would think it doe not qualify , usually for energy rebates and such you would have to improve the heating/cooling ineffencies like extra insulation energy efficient windows/doors insulating air gaps in exterior facing electrical or plumbing. I don’t think Putting a more efficient thermostat Would apply unless it was an old mercury ancient thermostat . Hope this helps you , contact your power company forget should be able to help .

However, I can control my heat and eventually air conditioning I hope (when we get out of winter) with a lot more precision than what I could with my old thermostat. So in that sense, I am saving or getting rebated
