“Can you install and link external temperature control sensors to this unit? I have a larger area with two different heat/air zones however the thermostats are currently mounted by each other throwing off the balance of heat and air.(Older building)”

The thermostat being wifi gets outside air temperature from the internet. I do not think it is equipped for additional sensor connections.
