“Does this thermostat have the ability to open the range at which it turns the furnace or air conditioner on or off. For example, if I set the a/c to 70, is the thermostat preprogrammed to turn the ac on at 71 and off at 69? Can I open the range to 2 dF?”

Don't believe it can do a 2 degree difference between cool and heat. The default is 3 degree differential between heat and cool.
