A:AnswerHello,
We also faced the same issue when we installed our thermostat yesterday. We found that the thermostat reboot issue is happening due to wires are not connected properly. If the wires not locked or you will see the wire copper coil outside means it doesn't connect properly. We reconnected the wires properly and the rebooting issue has been fixed.
A:AnswerThis what I follow and it works for me only a recommendation
One common question we get asked by all you snow birds and winter vacationers is what temperature should your thermostat be set to while you’re away? Our expert service technicians strongly recommend you do not set your thermostat below 60 degrees.
By placing your thermostat settings below 60 degrees, it causes the furnace to cycle for shorter periods of time, not allowing the condensate to escape the exhaust pipe, causing ice build-up. When the ice build-up occurs, it won’t allow your furnace to run causing a “no heat” situation which can result in some pretty costly repairs to not only your furnace, but if the house gets cold enough, it could cause your pipes to burst.
A:AnswerI just looked up your model and it looks like the ones I replaced. My two older Honeywell thermostats were swapped out with the two home smart color thermostats. The wiring on most thermostats is generally the same depending on your system and it capability. There are a couple of limitations about some systems that these will not work on. One that I can think of right now it electric baseboard heat (these will not work with that type of system). You can check on the Honeywell web site for more details and their customer service is very good. They answered my pre-purchase questions in a very timely manner. There are about six different combinations of wiring that you can use with these thermostats. You do need a "C" wire and that can be hooked up in about five minutes usually, my older thermostats didn't have that wire attached. There should be extra wires in the bundle behind the current thermostat and you just need one to be hooked up on you main units control board and you're good to go. I did exactly that and things work very well. Just head the warnings of turning off the units at the breaker before doing the wiring. The new thermostats are awesome, hooked them to the app and the Alexa!! Just be aware there are some limitations in the Alexa skill from Honeywell but you can change the temp, get the temp and a couple of other things, which is all you really need! That's what you would do if you walked over to it and changed it there once it was set up.Good Luck!

A:AnswerIf what your asking is if the smart thermostat would activate your secondary heat source like electric, or gas when the outside temperature goes below the threshold the heat pump's sensor are set to, then answer is yes so long as you have the smart thermostat connected to wifi. The smart thermostat would not utilize the extra two wires connected to your existing thermostat and instead utilize weather information for your location on the internet to activate your auxiliary heat source.
A:AnswerHi Shaw, if the thermostat loses power, you will receive an alert indicating the thermostat is not able to communicate with our servers. Hope this helps. Have a great day!
A:AnswerYes, the unit can be used without a "C" wire. You do lose the ability to run the fan in your furnace, independently from the furnace.
I believe that you can also have multiple zones, but I have not done this myself.
Good luck
