Questiondo i have to use the instant ink plan, or can i buy the ink as i want to?

- Answer The problem is with instant ink, as I am discovering now, in the middle of the night with college papers due- can and will shut down your ability to use your printer if they deem that there is an issue with your instant ink account- I can't figure out what that problem is- and there are no reps obviously to help me at this time of night. So now I have leave my home, go out in the middle of the night and find a way to print my assignments- all with a perfectly brand new printer on my desk, but held hostage by HP instant ink. I would not recommend this. It sounded like a great idea, but now, not so much.

- Answer This printer does feature built in Automatic Duplexing which means it does two-sided printing automatically. It must be an error in the listing. Thanks for pointing it out!

- Answer When you set up the "Scan to email" feature, you should have received an email from HP Support that includes your PIN. The example below is exactly what I received, less my personal information. Search your email to see if you received this from HP. Hope this helps! - Answer You shouldn't. I've gone several months without printing and not had a problem. One thing you'll want to make sure that you do is when you're not using the printer, turn it off using the printer's power button.That will give the printer the chance to cap the printheads so they're not exposed to air, and that's what usually causes the printheads to clog with dried ink.

QuestionI don't want to sign up for auto ink. So how do I make sure I don't when connecting printer and can I use the ink sent with the printer or is that part of the auto ink?

- Answer I did not set up for the auto ink feature. We just skipped over providing the information during our set up period. Use the ink provided and I suggest buying an additional set for back up until you know how much ink you will use in your use of the printer. In previous printer use, I have bought ink as I put it into the machine so I always have back up when it is needed.

- Answer When you open the printer software to scan, it asks what type of file you want to create - - choose "save as PDF." Then scan the first page. The software will then open a window that has a large + on the lower left-hand side. Click on the + -- it will then let you scan a 2nd page and add it to your file. I think you can add as many pages as you need. Hope this helps!
