You shouldn't. I've gone several months without printing and not had a problem. One thing you'll want to make sure that you do is when you're not using the printer, turn it off using the printer's power button.That will give the printer the chance to cap the printheads so they're not exposed to air, and that's what usually causes the printheads to clog with dried ink.
