It really varies based on your usage. If you are having issues with heating them I would consider perhaps look at upgrading the cooling system, maybe maximizing the fans cases. Look at a larger CPU cooler, etc... I would also add a GPU if you are doing high graphics tasks which would take a lot of load off the motherboard.
