Best PC purchase ever.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had issues with my old PC in the office. Slow, things were freezing on me. Had 4GB of ram. It was a dell. Which is crap. I decided to go HP and get this model, which is very powerful, has plenty of RAM, and has excellent quality and reviews. Came with a wireless keyboard and mouse combo. I wanted something powerful, but not as fancy as a gaming PC. This was my best choice. I couldn’t be happier. I bought one in March. Was so pleased, that I decided to buy 5 more for other employees is my office. Such a popular model that it was recently sold out by all major retailers including directly from HP, which is where I got 4 of them from. Only Best Buy has them in stock and gave the added benefit of anti virus protection. Computer has not let me down. It puts all other laptops and PCs out there to shame. Nothing has crashed on me so far, and and it installs windows updates at 1 thousand times the speed that my old PC had. The 16 GB of ram might seem a bit much, but it’s definitely worth it. Anything less than 16 GB of ram is definitely not worth the money.

It works... but pain to upgrade video
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With otherwise decent specs, I bought two of these with the intention of upgrading the video. I did a bit of research ahead of time and knew that I would need to purchase new power supplies through HP, which while wasn't ideal, was something I could work with. HP doesn't make it easy to upgrade and it took a while to track down the correct part numbers. At time of purchase, the best power supply we could get through HP was a 400w, which was disappointing, but would meet the power supply needs of the budget friendly video cards we were planning on adding. I believe there was also a 310w power supply also available. You can upgrade the SSD drive (I did on one machine) and the memory, which was a must. With the SSD drive, fast, and the machine in general is quiet. Aside from the power supply issue, my only real complaint is the case. It is so tiny (maybe a plus for some), which makes me worry about overheating and made the upgrades a pain, it has a vertical disc drive and it is SO ugly ;-) The fake brushed metal plastic is just hideous. But, the compact size may perfect for some and I haven't actually had any issues with overheating or the vertical drive (which I use on a regular basis).

Computer Works Fine, but Two Hard Drive Issue
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The computer works fine. I paid BB to set it up. I brought it home and hooked it up to my cloud. Within a few days the computer didn't work anymore because the hard drive was full. Turns out the computer has two hard drives. The c: drive that normally holds data, only holds the operating system. The d: drive holds data. My cloud was downloading to the c drive, because that's what it does on every other computer. This is not a design flaw, it's a set up flaw. I'm 55 years old. I bought a lot of computers this year and had a lot of issues with set up. I keep learning things I need to look out for in set up. I paid Best Buy to set them all up. I don't the answer to this issue, still learning.

Replacing my Gateway FX gaming computer
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this computer to replace my old Gateway computer. This computer is compact in comparison to my Gateway. It is very sleek and very plan looking. I had to buy a new VGA connector and hook it up to my old monitor that works great with this computer. I have an old Acer monitor 24 inch. This computer comes with an integrated video card. It has several slots to add in hard drives. It comes with a 128 sd drive. That to me is a very small drive and with that said I did the updates for windows 10 and the sd drive is filling up fast. I have ordered a new sd drive 1 terabit pny. The computer comes with a wireless keyboard and mouse. Small and delicate. I think this was a good bang for the book. I am not planning on gaming anymore hence not spending the big bucks on a top of the line gaming computer. However I do think you can still play games on this computer. The one thing I am not crazy about is the dvd player it is in an awkward position. I really do not like placing a dvd in on its side. With that said the DVD drive is delicate and basic. I plugged The computer in after purchasing the vga connector and set it up in no time. My monitor has a DVI connection. I could not use it to hook up to this computer. There isn't a DVI Connection on this computer. Do not forget to get a new VGA connection when purchasing this computer if you plan on using you old monitor. I am in the process of making a recovery flash drive and a recovery disk. With the solid state drive the computer comes on very fast and shuts down very fast. I also like the 1 terabit Hdd drive. I have been using that with transferring files from my old Gateway to the new HP Pavilion. Like with Gateway I think this HP Pavilion will give years of use. I think HP is a reputable company and makes great products. They have been around for many many years.

Great PC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I love this PC. Boots and shuts down really fast. I have run some memory intensive programs with no issues. So far I have been very pleased. The only thing I don’t like is the way the hard drive is partitioned. The C Drive is really small, so be careful when installing programs and storing documents and music. Use the D Drive to keep the C Drive free. Other than that no complaints.

Good for home use
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had multiple desktops, and then went the laptop route and now I have decided on a desktop again. It is fast, but they usually are when they’re new. I am not fond of 2 drives. Sometimes on a download it doesn’t prompt me to choose where the download goes. Although I have not had any problems with the wireless keyboard or mouse, I have used them before where they can lose connection and at the most inopportune time. I will have to spend additional money to get the wired keyboard. I do not like that you have to download just about everything. I would love the option of having a disc to add wanted apps/games/programs. I know that’s how they prefer to do things now, but some things I prefer to have a hard copy of. Overall it’s a good computer. It wasn’t on the high end as far as pricing, so it works well for someone who needs a decent computer for home use and at a fair price.

Simple setup
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced an older HP desktop with the Pavilion noted! Setup was a breeze and customization was painless with simple tools to enhance the process. Unit comes with Windows 10 which provides almost instant startup. The 16GB of RAM is a real plus and combined with the i7 processor really helps APPS fly. The wireless connectability to an HP Officejet worked first time and the entire process of setup probably required 30 - 45 min. This is my second HP desktop and have nothing but praise! The only slight blemish is the cheap keyboard and wired mouse that came with the package! Used another keyboard and mouse setup and everything works beautifully!

Awesome for the Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'd recommend anyone to get this one. Perfect combination of processing speeds n storage. I'm an IT professional working mostly on the programming and virtualization side. This PC is a perfect fit from computing perspective. Havent tried the Gaming side (it is better to get a dedicated gaming PC if you want)... i use my gaming console for that. Its a go for the Price and configuration.

Q: Question128 GB does not seem very big for an SSD. Is it possible to upgrade the SSD?
Asked by weepingwillow83.
- A:Answer Thank you for reaching out. This computer also has a 1TB HDD. You could upgrade the SSD later but the purpose of an SDD is for fast loading of the OS and large files and such. I have a similar set up and never noticed a real difference in playing games (Fortnite, CS:GO, Rust, etc) from the SSD versus the HDD. It could be due to how well they have optimized loading in these games plus they are online without cutscenes etc... I store all my games and documents on my standard HDD and keep my OS and only a few programs (photoshop, after effects) loaded on the SSD. Steam also allows you to easily move games from one drive to the other without having to reinstall. This allows you to download a new game to the SSD then transfer to HDD once you move your focus to a new game later. What I would do is give this set up a try knowing that should you want more storage later you can easily upgrade. This would also allow you to keep an eye out for a great deal on a larger SSD.

Q: QuestionI would like to reiterate the question, can the graphics be safely upgraded? Could someone say if they have tried? I know that a higher power supply rating is required.
Asked by Desktops.
- A:Answer Here are some photos: The 310 watt PSU is part # L10875-800. HP Partsurfer got mine to me in 1 business day (paid a bit extra for shipping. As you can see, all the connectors are correct - p1, p2, and p3. This is very easy to do. I bought the Geforce GTX 1050 ti.

Q: QuestionWill this computer run a 6GB geforce GTX1060? or I need to upgrade something?
Asked by Mnieto1975.
- A:Answer The unit ships with a 180 Watt power supply. That video card requires a minimum 400 Watt system power supply. I would recommend upgrading to a 500 Watt system power supply. You should ensure that any candidate supply will physically fit within the case.
