A:AnswerThey work fine for digital signals from cable coax or over the air with an antenna. You may not get premium channels, and you will not be able to back up to rewatch something, and you can't record shows unless you buy a DVR box. This box is not a DVR.
A:AnswerMy guess is that it got damaged somehow when you dropped it or it could have been damaged in transit. It looks to me that something is wrong with the internal power connections as you described that the light flashes red and green when you turn it on. On my converter box (I have the exact same box) the power light is a steady red when powered off and a steady green when its on. I would recommend doing an exchange. This converter box is the best I've had so far and the reception it gets is fantastic.. I had different box prior and the quality was not nearly as good.
A:AnswerFrom what the Geek Squad told me, I would say yes. My situation is similar to yours...no cable or internet in the room. I did have to purchase a better antenna as the rabbit ear antenna I had didn't pull in enough channels.
A:AnswerYes.. you can purchase the HDMI cables and attach to your Vizion TV. I too did this with Insignia™ - Digital to Analog Converter Box with HDMI-output, Attach your antenna and to the converter and plug in the converter to your TV. Follow the prompts on your TV screen and Free TV.
A:AnswerNO EXPENSIVE CABLE needed and works GREAT with simple $10.00, or less, antenna and it even works GREAT with a homemade aluminum foil and paperclip device. This newer INSIGNIA is much better than the old ones I originally purchased with voucher discount coupons when digital upgrade replaced analog.
ONE TIME purchase lasts for years!
A:AnswerHi.
Reception is dependent on the over-the-air signals available in your area and the reception of your antenna. As this box will pull the same signal as your current antenna, it seems unlikely you will pick up a significant amount of new channels.

A:AnswerI hooked this up to an in house antenna (bought at Best Buy) and to my smart TV to receive local TV stations without cable. You still need WIFI for things like Netflix etc.
A:AnswerHi sdnabor,
No, converter box will not work for your purpose, I would recommend you to contac your cable provider and check for HD bundles available.

A:AnswerI hope this answer will suffice your needs. Unfortunately there isn't a source selection input button on the remote for streaming with another device. The volume button on the remote does work on my much older tv. My disappointment was the program guide only 1 hour not no way to schedule your viewing time. On the internet I searched local network programming and clicked on the link : No cable tv-guide . Then follow the prompts for your correct time zone
Although a programming guide is already listed on the bottom of the same page. This guide made my tv program finding and viewing much easier to schedule my tv show programming. I hope this idea works for others as well as it did for me.
A:AnswerHello,
Yes, it features analog pass-through. You can activate it or deactivated by pressing PASS-THRU on the remote.
