• NO EXPENSIVE CABLE needed and works GREAT with simple $10.00, or less, antenna and it even works GREAT with a homemade aluminum foil and paperclip device. This newer INSIGNIA is much better than the old ones I originally purchased with voucher discount coupons when digital upgrade replaced analog. ONE TIME purchase lasts for years!

• You don't need cable service to use this, I'm using an air antenna, I cut the cable and my cables are inside the wall only hdmi cables no coaxial this converter is working really well
