- Answer The HDMI converter 'is' an input device, it does not have an HDMI output. What you are trying to do is run an HDMI input to an HDMI input on the computer, and no, that is not going to work. What you need is the RCA input with HDMI output device.

QuestionWe purchased the HDMI to RCA converter and hooked up our Fire TV. We have the video & can control the volume through the remote but there is no sound. We made sure the dolby digital was off & the TV sound is not muted. What else could be wrong?

- Answer 1: The answer to the question is: yes, if you connect this device's RCA out cables to your TV's RCA input jacks. 2. This device converts HDMI to composite (RCA connector), meaning that you feed this device an HDMI signal, and it converts it to composite signal (RCA), for feeding into your old TV. It does not convert going the other way. It won't convert composite (RCA) to HDMI. I believe Insignia has another device that does that. 3. So regarding the answer by By Deely 4 months ago, He wrote: " But I had an old DVD player with RCA plugs. This device allowed me yo use the DVD player with my new TV. " : He must have been using a different Insignia device, not this device. This device will NOT convert RCA output from a DVD player to HDMI for feeding into a HDMI TV. I believe Insignia has another device that does that. 4. Regarding answer by Charles V. InsigniaCustomerSupport 4 months ago, he states "It also allows the usage of Digital Optical Cable for surround sound systems." I don't know what he means by that. This device does not have any connector/cable for Digital Optical Cable. The composite output of this device is analog, not digital. Hope this helps.

- Answer This is a straight HDMI Output to RCA Input Converter. It's basically for old TVs, Projectors that only have RCA input jacks, but your device (Roku, Firestick, etc only have HDMI output connectors). But it works great. I've used it on my old TV with only RCA Jacks. I'm able to use both my new Roku and my Amazon Firestick.

QuestionI bought a Rocketfish hdmi splitter so I can send the hdmi cable signal to a Rocketfish hdmi to rca converter for my magnavox DVD recorder , I get a great picture, but the audio has a "dadadadada" sound..... what could be the issue ? How do I correct it ?

- Answer Unfortunately I cannot answer your question, but I had a similar problem with the converter I purchased. With it connected, I cannot get audio for CBS All Access--only white noise. Haven't been able to correct it. Must be a glitch with the converter itself or quite possibly CBS All Access.
