• If the mountain is between you and the transmitting station, almost any antenna will have issue. This antenna is not terribly sensitive - but even a sensitive antenna will have issue with mountains between it and the signal generator. This is a case where cable or satellite might be a better answer - but a lot more expensive. Sorry to not have a more upbeat answer.

• I would highly doubt you'd get good reception in a mountainous area. I am 20 minutes from NYC and thought I'd get more channels and good reception. NOT!
