I am quite pleased with the performance of this antenna. I have tried multiple internal and external/internal TV antennas including the Antennas Direct Clearstream 4V (whose retail price is 10X the price of this one!). To date, this is among the best performing antennas I have tried In fact, the VHF reception with this antenna is the best of any I have tried (including the far more expensive Clearstream antenna). Indoors, on the ground floor level of my house with the antenna positioned in a window (with blinds closed) behind my TV, I am able to receive multiple watchable digital stations. At times, I am able to get most of the UHF band digital TV stations available in the DC metro area including the Maryland PBS station. Also, depending on antenna position and adjustment of the VHF (rabbit ears) component of this antenna I can get either of the two VHF stations but not both simultaneously (i.e. I can get Channel 9 broadcast stations if angled and aligned properly but must realign and raise/lower the VHF element (rabbit ears) and rescan with my TV to get the Channel 7 broadcast stations (losing Channel 9 stations when I do)). As with all Over The Air (OTA) TV Antennas, this antenna appears to be impacted by atmospheric conditions so that depending on cloud cover and time of day, my reception degrades or improves. Still, I get a selection of watchable stations at any time (just not all of them). Given that I got this on a Best Buy Deal of the Day for under $10, I find it very impressive for the price. Unfortunately, reception with this antenna is still not sufficient for me to cut the cable (yet!) which is why I only gave it 4 stars. Still, I would recommend it to anyone wanting to have a back up option for the rare instances when cable is out so they have something to watch. Also, at least for Cox cable customers in the DC metro area, it provides access to several local stations that are not available through Cox (at least for the lowest cost Cox TV option). These include at least two of the Channel 14 stations, at least one of the Channel 7 stations and at least one of the Channel 66 stations,

I had just bought a 40" LG TV from Best Buy and I knew I didn't want to pay for cable so before I went to pick-up my TV I looked for an antenna and went through all the reviews of ones in my price range. I came across this antenna on sale for $9.99 and was doubtful but the reviews were as good as those for much higher priced antennas. I needed something to enable me to watch my new TV when I got it home so I gladly took a $10 chance and headed home with my new TV and antenna. I connected the antenna and plugged in the TV and started the station scan during setup. After it was finished I was surprised to have well over 30 stations. The best local stations were crystal clear and with a little adjustment of the antenna position I was getting all the stations that were entered during the scan. This was my first flat screen TV and for $10 compared to the price of cable I was more than happy with all the channels this small inexpensive rabbit-ear style antenna received. About a week later I rescanned the channels and was surprised to find several new channels were now added. I plan to eventually purchase an outdoor HDTV antenna but for the meantime I am more than happy with the capabilities of this inexpensive alternative to overpriced cable. If you want something inexpensive and basic that does the job then you won't be disappointed with this product. I was delighted.

Don't be like me and wait too long to get an HD antennae. This model was cheap, easy to install and took me from zero free HD channels to a dozen by just propping it on top of my entertainment console. My first attempt was to hide it behind the actual flatscreen that's mounted on my wall with just enough room to tilt down to a proper viewing angle. Unfortunately, that only gave me half the channels that are available in my area. By putting it on top of the entertainment console I can now get all of them. According to some easy-to-find HD station locators online, if I wire this sucker upwards a few more feet and install it in my attic, I could get even more channels. However, I live In Iowa so getting more channels basically means getting more of the same networks for other Iowa TV markets... no difference except for their local news, really, and seriously, who wants that. In summary, this antennae helped me understand and enjoy what the FCC intended with broadcast television... free reception without any hassle. With streaming boxes and the internet, access to the cable stuff is easy enough. Bye-bye Mediacom.

We cut the cable last spring and haven't missed TV, since we can watch online. But now we want to watch football on local channels, so I reviewed several antennas and came across this one. Yes, it's inexpensive (cheap), but BB customer service said to keep the box in case we wanted to return it. No hassles and they didn't try to push us to a more expensive item. FYI: We live in a metropolitan city of 400,000 with no mountains around us. We have a 2011 model Vizio HDTV and the antenna set-up took less than 10 minutes. Put the antenna together in a snap, screwed the coaxial cable that comes with the antenna into the TV, scanned the channels and we got 22 of them, including ABC, CBS, NBC, three PBS channels and a lot of others that come in clear and crisp Not sure how it would work in your area, but it is worth trying. Keep the box if you're worried about having to return it. We are completely satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend the product for those who don't need 200+ channels of mostly unwatchable cable shows.

We purchased this antenna for the kitchen TV rather than rent a set-top box from TDS for $3.50 a month (given that we bought an open box for $9.00, this antenna will pay for itself in 3 months). All we were hoping for were a few basic channels and a network or two so we could watch the news. Placement is critical. Trying it in the guest bedroom sitting next to the TV we picked up 4 channels. In our exercise room sitting in the west window facing the transmission towers, we picked up 10-16 channels. Sitting on the kitchen counter next to the TV, we picked up 16 channels. But in the west-facing kitchen window we picked up 24 channels (strange!), including ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, and channels we didn't even know existed. No FOX though. There's definitely trial and error involved when it comes to placement of the antenna. Reception is far from perfect. Most days we have a wide choice of channels with good reception; other days several of them are pixelated and unwatchable, especially the HD channels. Reception is affected by the microwave running and sometimes people walking in the room. Haven't yet figured out how the weather impacts reception. Overall, however, considering the price, we couldn't be happier with this little antenna for our kitchen TV.

This HD antenna is a pretty great value in terms of price it's very smile and basic. The only issue I have is that it only works great if the antenna is near an exterior wall. I had my living room situated so my TV was against an exterior wall I got a lot of channels and there were not any problems with channels dropping out while watching something. I moved the TV 10-feet across the room and it's against an interior wall and I don't get half the channels that I was getting before. I live in a downtown area in Minneapolis so I presumed that I would get a good signal because according to the internet all the over-the air transmitters in my market were within a 10-mile radius but I still had issues with this antenna when it wasn't against an exterior wall. I suppose that for the price you can't really go wrong but if you want a hassle free over-the-air HD antenna you really get what you pay for. If I could go back in time I would have spent the extra money to buy an externally powered, amplified indoor antenna that way you know that you're going to get the best quality.

I read a bunch of reviews online about many different antennas. I settled on this one as most said to avoid overly expensive ($45 and above) as they bring in the same amount of channels. I'm glad I listened. While I can't compare a more expensive model to this one (my personal advice would be to start cheap until you find one that matches how many and what channels you want) what I can tell you is that this brought in all the channels I wanted and then some (30+ all in HD). There was some minor troubleshooting/fiddling as my local ABC kept cutting in and out, but a little adjusting took care of that. And if you adjust properly, you might get even more channels than you originally had first hooked it up. I got exactly what I wanted out of this antenna.

its just a basic "rabbit ear" antenna, works for most of the channels, sometimes you have to adjust the antenna to pick up the digital signal but its cheap and works for strong digital signals. if you want something that works for all channels without having to adjust then spend a little more and get an higher quality antenna from Sony or Samsung or if you are a homeowner or your apartment allows for outdoor antennas that is the best option for you to receive all of the basic TV channels available in your area. Remember homeowners are federally protected in having outdoor antennas, no subdivision/home owners association can prohibit someone from attaching a digital antenna to their house or on their property. Call the FCC if you are being harassed or fined regarding that.

I looked at review after review for an antenna. Several of our major stations are around 30 miles away so I knew that was a problem. Short of something in my attic or on my roof I think this actually does about as well as one can reasonably expect. I was hoping I could just tape it to the back of the tv to hide it but unfortunately that severely affected the reception. Luckily this is small enough I was able to easily set it on the tv's wall mounting bracket so it is still mostly hidden. I have to occasionally move the arms to fix reception but considering the tv is mounted more or less in the middle of my house I'm extremely happy with the results. Could I get better reception? Possibly, but I really doubt it without going up or out with a much much more expensive antenna. I need a new one for the tv in my garage and this is def the one I'm going to buy again.

I bought a similar antenna at Target and realized it was the wrong brand. Target's has a more limited range so I wasn't getting channels that my other antenna was getting - it's very important you check the range!!! 5 or 10 miles makes a difference. This may have been the same price as Target's also, but this is BB's brand and it's just made better. Not gorgeous by any means, but it works. We got it so we could watch some big sports games, and my wife loves the game show networks.Basic channels come in as well. We don't watch much TV so it's perfect for us - don't want to pay the cable company any more than for what I need.

I have cable in the family room but for the bedroom upstairs I required an additional cable box. As I normally watch mainly the news upstairs, I decided to try an indoor antenna. I got the Insignia and the RCA ANT1275F and tried them both. Although the RCA ANT1275F was $15 more expensive it did not get any additional channels. So I kept the Insignia antenna and returned the RCA ANT1275F to Best Buy. The Insignia antenna gives me about 26 channels including my local channels. The clarity is great and am really happy with my purchase.

This antenna works better than the one it replaced, but one of the telescoping antennas broke the first time I extended it. The cord is long enough to place within 5 feet of the tv. Base is slightly too light, thus it moves a little too easily if the cord or base is bumped lightly. But this is the best antenna for the price. I was looking for a real inexpensive antenna for a basement tv I occasionally use. This did the trick, and I can now get in stations that were intermittant at best before. It didn't get the reception I was hoping for; I still have to play with antenna occasionally to tune a station. I had to tape the last rung of the extended antenna that pulled out when it was first extended, but I don't think it affects reception much, so I didn't return it.

    Hardly Picks Up Any Channels!

I bought this on March 27, 2016 to try to replace my Bright House Cable "Basic Cable" connection, but this antenna only picks up about 18-20 total channels. I live in Livonia MI, and I placed this antenna right next to a window facing east towards Detroit, and have it connected to my 1080p HDTV coax connection). Out of the 18-20 channels it could receive, 10-12 actually "work" and are viewable (the rest were just black or static). Out of that 10, only about 6-7 of them were true 1080i HD level quality (Example: Ch.4, 7, 56. etc.). It didn't pick up channel 20 at all (which is channel 6 on the Bright House Cable Box), so you ain't gonna get no Jerry Springer Show or Maury with this antenna. LOL!. I'll be returning this gadget soon.

Got this because previous indoor antenna was getting spotty because it was starting to break. The price was low which was great but that's about it. It needed some installation on the bunny ears and the circle thing which I had some problems with. It was hard to push down on the circle antenna to go all the way down and the screw for the bunny ears were originally set up going back and forth only which took me quite a while on how to turn it back left and right. After like 30 mins fussing with it I finally tested it out on my tv and it scanned couple channels fewer than my old antenna plus it also had problem picking up main local channels as did my old one. I returned it next day and found a better but little more expensive flat antenna and that worked way better.

This antenna works as well as any more expensive antenna, it just isn't as fancy looking and it cannot be mounted on a wall. I get great reception with it. I have seen several reviews for other digital antennas saying that the dollar store carried some for awhile and those worked great too. That leads me to think that just about any antenna is going to work about the same. The only reason I took one star of was because it would have been nice if the chord was a foot or two longer. I would guess it is about three feet long. If it was longer, I could get it closer to the window, which might help a little.

I tried three other indoor antennas before this: Mohu 50, RCA ANT (Both purchased in best buy) and one viewtv flat from amazon. The only one good was mohu but it cost around $75 while some channels had laggy videos. Then I gave this one a try. I am surprised with the results. Mohu ($75) while place on window pulled 27 channels and this($13) pulled 28 channel sitting right under the TV and no choppy videos. I highly recommend this product.

I don't have cable, so I use an antenna to obtain a TV signal. I have been using the same antenna for years, but wanted to try an updated antenna to help with getting multiple signals, without having to constantly move it around. This antenna is great, it allows me to get strong signals, and I can have it in one spot and it brings all the channels in. The smaller body size helps to fit it into corners, or put it into places where it is out of the way. I thought the ears not extending very far would be a problem, but it isn't, and I don't have to worry about breaking them. Overall, very happy with this purchase.

This antenna is good for the price. If your looking to get a lot of over the air HD channels it depends on the area your at but this antenna is not powerful enough to collect a lot of channels. I got in my area about 45 out of the 845 Over the air HD channels available all together. That might not seem a lot but I bought before a $75 Digital Antenna and only got 69 HD of over the air channels. The channels that do come in using this antenna are clear when its not very windy! If you ever owned a digital antenna before you would know when its windy out side then your picture will be delayed or unclear. Overall this is a good digital antenna for the money and works well.

This antenna is not much better than any other kind. Your channel reception seems to be solely based on your distance from the tv stations and the position in which you place the antenna. Its been very frustrating to go through purchasing so many antennas to finally just figuring this out. The only channels i get are 3 local major channels (2, 4, and 9) and about 40 channels that are either advertisement/infomercial channels or where they are speaking a different language that i dont understand. I usually just watch hulu or netflix out of frustration

I bought this to replace another flat style antenna that's not working so well, but this one didn't work for me either. It only picked up 2 local channels. I think it's the apartment complex I live in so if you're in an apt I would maybe invest in something with stronger signal. However I used the other insignia one before in a house and it was fine. So I think this would only work in a house without interference. I live in Orange County so it wasn't the distance that was the problem. For only $10 it's worth a try and if it doesn't work, you can just return it at bestbuy without problem
