“Will this cure the disc error message I have been getting on my dvd player?”

• I did not get any "error" messages when I used my DVD cleaner. It has worked very well. After cleaning my DVDs, I had no problems playing movies or music DVDs and I am not an audiophile.

• I cannot tell you. But as far as I can discern on 3 machines, this "cleaning" made no difference whatsoever, sorry to say.
