Highly unlikely as most computers do not have an HDMI input (only output). This device, Insignia- RCA to HDMI Converter is specifically intended to connect older audio/video equipment to newer Television sets that strictly use HDMI inputs. I don’t believe you need anything such as this device to modify the signal. I’ve done it many times and it always works. Best if you use an auxiliary out as the sound for recording is always different than the ambient sound in the house.
