• With the HomeKit app Im able check the status and open and close the garage.

• Yes the Home app will show the door status as either Closed, Open, Closing or Opening. Your iPhone will also show notifications even if the Home app is not active. To see the status remotely or get notifications away from home, you will need to have an Apple TV or Apple HomePod setup in your home to act as a hub. • It shows the status of the garage door in Apple Home app. When you are not at home, you need an Apple Home hub (Apple TV (4K), Homepod, iPad acting as a hub) for remote connectivity back into your house. With the Apple home hub, you will be able to see the status of the garage door, as well as opening and close it, when you are not at home.

• Yes, in the Apple Home app it says Open or Closed based on the sensor you attach to the door. It will also send you an alert if you would like to be alerted when the door opens or closes.
