- Answer I was wondering the same thing as mine also get really hot. I plugged it in to my laptop for about 5 mins and it got to the point where I almost couldn’t hold it.

- Answer There are two USB-C ports on this adapter. One (with attached cable) plugs into the laptop/tablet and is used for both data and power. The second one (plug only) can be used as either a data passthrough or to attach an external power source (highly recommended). The USB-C ports support PD-3.0 power delivery and data transfer rates up to 10 Gbps.

- Answer 1. A 60W or greater power adapter is fine. 2. Data is sent from the USB-C port to the Ethernet cable. You can however connect a USB flash drive to the USB port.
