“My adapter gets EXTREMELY hot when just plugged into HDMI to a single monitor. Is this normal? I am afraid it might be hurting my laptop. Do all usb c adapters get this hot (too hot to hold for more than a second). Should I invest in another one?”

I was wondering the same thing as mine also get really hot. I plugged it in to my laptop for about 5 mins and it got to the point where I almost couldn’t hold it.

The only difference I'm aware of is the wall jack / port. What could be the issue with the wall jack/port at the office that causes my ethernet to USB-C converter to heat up so?
