The USB-C Multi Adapter is a bus-powered hub, meaning it draws power from the host computer (your M4 iMac) to function. However, certain scenarios may require additional power for optimal performance. If you’re only using standard functions like USB ports for keyboards, mice, or basic peripherals, the hub will work fine powered solely by the M4 iMac. If you connect high-power peripherals (e.g., external drives, large monitors via HDMI, or charging devices), the power provided by the iMac's USB-C port may be insufficient. The JCD383 supports Power Delivery (PD) passthrough via its USB-C port to supply additional power. Connect a USB-C power adapter to the Power Delivery input port on the hub. This will both power the hub and pass power to your iMac (if supported). The hub does not include a USB-C power adapter. You’ll need to use a separate USB-C charger (preferably one that supports at least up to 100W PD) to power both the hub and peripherals.
