I just purchased my ddx9703s and Best Buy installed it. My question is when I play a DVD I hear the sound but no video. I must be missing a step. Can you explain what needs to be done when playing a DVD.

It isn't designed to play video while driving. Set the parking brake and it should work.

Try to put the your vehicle in park and see if that shows video. If so then the installer did not set it up for you to view while driving. All you need to do is insert a dvd and click the disc option on the stereo and you should be able to view and hear your disk. . It also could be a bad unit.
