how do you use the self clean feature null

Never use the self-clean feature on these ovens. There are a couple things that can and often go wrong with self clean. Mine got permanently locked and I had to pay a technician $200 to fix it. He advised to never use self clean again. I recently had the ovens serviced for a issue not related to self clean and the technician felt the overwhelming need to tell me all the bad things that often go wrong with self clean. Most of the negative reviews are associated with self clean.

Self cleaning cycle is automatic, take shelves out, lock oven and turn on self cleaning. Cycle is over in about 4 hours, oven door locks. Had smaller kitchen aid double oven for 25 years. never had problems with self cleaning on top oven. Bottom oven, the self cleaning went out. (Probably used self cleaning maybe 10 or 11 times). I had AHS and they replaced double oven with a double oven with convection on top. Best deal I could ever make. .It would be important to make sure it is a dedicated electric line.
