It will run whatever your Windows laptop will run. Out of the box it runs Windows in S mode. I believe the Nook app is a store app, so that would be fine. Don’t know what Overdrive is, but if it is not a store app, you just need to convert to full Windows Home Free and trivial conversion.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is an OverDrive app, though it uses the older Windows 8 design. There's also an Amazon app, but it's not very good, and that's Amazon's fault.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should successfully be able to download both Nook and Overdrive from the Microsoft Store. Please note that in order to do this, you may need to switch out of Windows S mode on your device and into Windows 10 Home Edition. See here how to make the switch: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4456067/windows-10-switch-out-of-s-mode. In addition, the Surface Go was designed to run great with the Microsoft Office Suite, and normal applications like email as well. In regards to Adobe, we have heard from many customers that they have been able to successfully run some of their programs on this device. However, please be sure to check what the system requirements are of the program you wish to download, and compare them to the specs of the Surface Go. You will want to ensure you have enough processing speed, RAM and storage capacity in order to be successful. We hope this helps!
