• yes I put in my IMEI on their web site and iut said yes but I have not switched.

• Yes, they need the unique number of your phone to activate your sims card. Best Buy can do the activation process for you. I did my wife's, but Best Buy did mine without even asking; nice. I'm with AT&T, but the phone is unlocked and works with Verizon as well.
