yes it shows on there list that Model: CM500-100NAS NETGEAR - DOCSIS 3.0 High-Speed Cable Modem - Black is approved.ALSO IT SHOWS THAT THE NEWER Model: CM600-100NAS NETGEAR - DOCSIS 3.0 High-Speed Cable Modem - Black IS APPROVED.THE REASON WHY I'M SHOWING THE NEWER ONE.BECAUSE IF YOUR CABLE COMPANY HAS 16 DOWNSTREAM AND 4 UP STREAM.THEN THE NEW ONE WILL LET YOU GROW IN THE FUTURE BECAUSE THE NEW ONE HAS 24 DOWN STREAM AND 8 UP STREAM

It is meant for internet only and Comcast does have the ability to stream some channels through their website. But to connect this to the TV no it does not work like a cable box.

Your modem will only handle your internet service. The cable company that you are receiving service through will provide you with a DVR box or Digital box to provide you with your TV services.

ABSOLUTELY. Ditch that leased modem, save yourself money and enjoy better TV, Internet etc. I'm using the Goggle OnHub router which I strongly recommend

Yes. You will want to make sure that it supplies as much bandwithif not more than what your plan allows. You will also have to get a wifi router if youare looking for wireless internet though. There are netgear modems and routers built into one though if a combination is something you are looking for.
