There is no modem in this router.You will need to use your DSL modem and hook this up to it.

Please try again later.You may have submitted your question for the wrong product; This is for the AC1600 Dual Band Router, which is strictly a router and does NOT have a modem incorporated. There is another Netgear product listed as an AC1600, but it is a gateway device (meaning that it has both a modem and router integrated into the device). The other device cost about $200, which is at least $70 more expensive than this item. For your convenience, Ive included all three AC 1600 items currently sold on bestbuy, so that you can identify your intended item. Please note that one is just a router (this product), while the other two are modem-router combos (one of which, I believe, is what you are asking about).
