Indeed, YES. I did replace the very same modem that you mention with this model of the Netgear. Keep in mind that the Westel 6100G is an older model. In fact, one can replace any ADSL modem with any other as far as function is concerned. However, some telco's use the previous modem's MAC address as verification of a legitimate user, so you may have to get tech support to reset their database with your new modem's MAC address.
