• Indeed, YES. I did replace the very same modem that you mention with this model of the Netgear. Keep in mind that the Westel 6100G is an older model. In fact, one can replace any ADSL modem with any other as far as function is concerned. However, some telco's use the previous modem's MAC address as verification of a legitimate user, so you may have to get tech support to reset their database with your new modem's MAC address.

• Yes, as far as I know. I have used Netgear ADSL modems to replace Westell modems and the result was good. I am not specifically familiar with the 6100G.

• It should. You should get your service provider's modem configuration settings, though. Each provider has different settings.

• Yes, I had the same Westell and replaced it with the Netgear. NO problems and very easy installation.
