A:AnswerAssuming your existing router is too far from your outdoor television, the Orbi or other mesh type routers could be a solution to your problem. If the mesh routers don’t give you the results you desire another option might be looking into a company, C. Crane that sells various antenna and repeater type systems that are able to “shoot” Wi-Fi internet service (some as far as 3 miles clear line sight). The best option of course, would be to hire an electrical contractor, who could hard wire an Ethernet cable, above or below ground, from the router to your television.
A:AnswerAbsolutely. In fact if you are replacing an existing wireless router, and use the same password, Android as well as any other brand should log on immediately.
A:AnswerUpgrading a wireless router is only necessary when you have exceeded its capabilities or it has failed entirely. If you notice excessive buffering or disconnection due to either distance from the router, or have exceeded the number of wireless appliances the unit is capable of, then a new wireless (or mesh type) router may be in order.
A:AnswerAre you currently using the Orbi system ?
If not, you can place the Orbi Router in the same room with your current modem. You can then place the satellite in the main house to get coverage. The distance and thickness of the wall will affect the performance. Try to line up the Orbi router and Orbi satalite and minimize the distance. I live in an old house with plaster walls with a modem in the basement and the satellite on the third floor. I have great coverage for the firestick on my third floor. Buy the system and try it out. You can always return it, last I checked it should not have a open box fee.
If you have a Orbi system and are having trouble, contact NetGear you have free support. They are pretty good at helping customers out.
A:AnswerNo this is strictly a router and satellite. You still need a modem from your provider or you can buy one if you dont want to lease one. Great system for extending coverage in your home I will say
A:AnswerThe Orbi routers will replace the extenders. And being a mesh system, there will only be one wifi connection name, not multiple (2g, 5g, etc), and you devices will seemlessly transition between the routers depending on which is closest/strongest. And you can always add additional router points depending on signal strength throughout the house.
A:AnswerThis is what we have. The ORBI does a much better job handling traffic so our speed is improved and we get far fewer dropped calls. We just don’t use the built in ATT Wi-Fi. I highly recommend the ORBI!
