“If main breaker box is in residence and shop electrical runs from this box to additional breaker box in shop, will an additional adapter work for shop? One adapter will already be on residence first floor for outside video camera.”

Not sure, I do know the breakers need to be on the same side of your breaker box. I’m not sure how it will work going through a second box.
