A:AnswerWe don't have internet at all at our house but a kind neighbor across the street and two doors down gave us their password. There were rooms we couldn't connect at all until I bought this. My son has a PS4 and he goes online all the time to play. So yes if you have internet in your home then this will work fine with game play. He may occasionally have a few small issues with it lagging but in our case you have to figure that two families are both using the same Internet and that if a bunch of people in both houses are on it at the same time then that is probably the reason.
A:AnswerWe bought one to extend our neighbors WIFI from their house to our house after they gave us their password. They live across the street and 2 houses down. It works better at some times than others but you have to take into consideration just how many people out of two families that might be using it at the same time. It helped alot to make their Internet accessible through our whole house when without it we couldn't connect in the rooms farthest from their house. I'm happy with it for the price paid.
A:AnswerIt works in my building. The router is downstairs and I live upstairs and couldn't get good wi-fi reception for my phone and computer so I purchased this. It was easy to set up and now I get great reception.
A:AnswerMy situation was flipped around with the router in the basement. It worked for me, but the speeds were under 15 mbps with that far of a disctance.
A:AnswerYes, it would. However, Be aware that installing this will cut your internet speed in half. Gives more range but slows down everything else. I found that out the hard way. Kind of don't see the point.
A:AnswerRange will vary based on Wi-Fi proximity. To give you a better answer, I currently reside in the two-story house that was built in the early 20th century and it currently reaches 15 m in the corner of our second story bedroom. This will be from the home router device for Wi-Fi.
A:AnswerThis should work for you. My smart tv needs to connect to the extender and I have no problems streaming thru it. You may have less throughput but still enough to work.
A:AnswerYes with a different IP address. The new Netgear Nighthawks have much better range and signal strength and eliminate the need for an extender in most cases.
