It works in my building. The router is downstairs and I live upstairs and couldn't get good wi-fi reception for my phone and computer so I purchased this. It was easy to set up and now I get great reception.

I had a special application and had to reach beyond my main router to a remote controlled furnace.it does the job and relatively cheaply. however, the instructions were not clear as to passwords. the extender needs to know the password of the main router.
