A:AnswerYES,
I have the comcast X1 remote set to adjust the volume & top change the channels.
You need to use the procedure to assign the X1 remote fore the TV and it will ask you if you want to
set the remote for the Noko as well.
A:AnswerYou should reach out to Onkyo support at https://www.onkyousa.com/contact-support/ to get the distortion level answer. I sent a couple of questions to them using that website before my recent purchase of the TX-NR696. They got back to me the same day. They also have a telephone number, if you prefer: 800-229-1687 (9-5 EST). After a couple of follow up questions, I purchased the unit and I absolutely love it. I upgraded my old Onkyo Ampli-tuner AV HT-RG10(B) AV receiver and it was LONG overdue!
A:AnswerIt only shows dolby atmos as an option if the source is actually Dolby atmos. Some Uhd and Blu ray movies have the codec and some Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney plus offerings as well. Look for the Dolby Atmos indicator on the disk box or in the description of the movie on a streaming service.
You also need to be using your hdmi input from the source. You have plenty of hdmi inputs on the receiver so you shouldn't have to use your tv as a hub. Just use the arc hdmi slot to connect the TV with the receiver in order to have both respond to the same remote.
Hope that helps.
A:AnswerI had this problem when I first set up the receiver. Assuming you have no center channel speaker, check your source, either dvd or tv if bringing network through your tv. Switch audio to PCM. Problem is, when using DTS audio, it is sending most dialogue to the center channel. Hope this helps.
A:AnswerThe Onkyo is a hearing changer!!
No it is 7.1 however I have it configured so that I have several Sony Bookshelf speakers and two sets of Sony
floor standing speakers and it is WONDERFUL
I have it set up so that I have "SURROUND SOUND" even with Xfinity.
I picked the Onkyo for the phone input which was very important to me
as well as a USB connection in the back of the receiver. I have all my 'CD's on a flash drive
and the sound is increasable!!
It is well worth the price.
Con:
I had a ONKYO TX-NR656. I purchased the extended warranty. I had three (3) cases of a power surge and
I had to have BestBuy send it in and replace the motherboard. It was connected to a second
APC Battery back up and that did not help.
A:AnswerONKYO TX-NR696 7.2CH 4K ATMOS AVR. Easy, just takes time hooking up and running all of the wires. Took about 40 minutes to reconnect all devices, 7.1 surround sound speakers, Wifi, on-screen set-up and speaker calibration. Upgraded from an 14+ year old 7.1 surround sound receiver and sounds amazing.
