• Yes you need The Ring App in order to use and set up Ring. You need the Alexa app to use Echo show and to link your Ring to Echo. If you already have an Amazon account it's not difficult at all.

• Yes You need to download both Apps to work. Also know you are able to connect Alexa to work your doorbell. Just go in the Alexa App, and connect the device. Youtube is your best friend here. "How to connect doorbell 2 with Alexa"
