A:AnswerRING comes with a 30 day try it (I Believe) but if you want the insurance package and view of all uploaded videos there is a $100 per year or a $6/8 per month
A:AnswerTo have recordings (video) you need plan otherwise you get only notification that someone is on your door. By the time you tap on notification and get Live Video person who was at the door left. So pointless.
A:AnswerYou can mount it with an optional wedge kit thats mounts on the wall. It will change the angle of the Ring doorbell. You can use the existing wireing from your origional doorbell to hardwire it or have wiring and a transformer installed.
A:AnswerYes, there are several ways to charge it.
Hardwired to the doorbell voltage
USB as you mentioned and there is even a solar panel that's an additional cost (reviewed it but haven't used it.)
A:AnswerI have a RING doorbell camera at each door and 2 in my backyard area looking different ways.Because you can put the cameras anywhere they can sit as long as they do not fall over or hang them on the fence/wall,etc. I even have a doorbell cameras looking to the street side of my house (total of 8 cameras) and they catch EVERYTHING. AS long as you place them where the night beam doesn't hit anything to mes up the view, you will be ok.
A:AnswerThe fee is only if you decide to use their cloud. Its $3 a month or $30 for the year. I have a mechanical chime and the doorbell rings off of that--like my old original doorbell. It also makes a chime sound on your phone or will vibrate if your phone volume is turned down.
A:AnswerBesides costing twice as much, the original has a built in battery and the 2 has a removable battery pack (irrelevant if you are going to hardwire the unit). The original has to be removed from the mount and charged if utilizing built in battery power, where the 2 allows you to swap out the battery pack if you buy a spare. The 2 also features a higher resolution 1080 camera instead of the 720 in the original model. The original Ring doorbell is only $99, the Ring 2 with a slightly better camera and removable battery is $199 plus another $29 for a spare battery - the slight upgrade did not warrant the much higher price tag IMHO.
