Why can't I get audio from this adapter? HI. I'm using this adapter on a Win 8.1 laptop to go from HDMI to Micro-HDMI. When I plug it in, I get no audio. A new audio device shows in the volume mixer, but I am unable to choose it.

I don't know if you have figured it out yet but, it might be because this adapter is intended to go to "micro HDMI to HDMI".
But did you try enabling it and setting it as default and disabling your other auto source?

This device is capable of transmitting video and audio. Since you are getting video, and the computer is recognizing the audio device, the signal is being sent and received properly. The issue is with a setting on the computer needing adjusted to select the other device.
