I don't know if you have figured it out yet but, it might be because this adapter is intended to go to "micro HDMI to HDMI". But did you try enabling it and setting it as default and disabling your other auto source?

Since you are getting video, and the computer is recognizing the audio device, the signal is being sent and received properly. The issue is with a setting on the computer needing adjusted to select the other device.
