Q: QuestionI am told that once the gift card funds are exhausted, I will be invoiced for subscription costs if I don't want to add a CC. If I call to cancel at that time, should I expect it to take multiple efforts for them to cancel? Talking to Sirius makes me sick

• A:Answer The way I also go around this is that the CC I added to the Sirius Account is a Prepaid Amex Account called Bluebird. If the fees are not in the account, they can't get the money and will just flag it for non-payment. They can't take money from me I don't have. I only put the amount of money in the account I needed to pay for the Sirius Account for the year and no more. This is the only thing I use this account for because I know how much of a pain Sirius is to talk to to get them to reverse any charges. If they try to charge me more, its just like paying with the gift cards. This was before I knew about using the gift cards and not even adding a CC account to my Sirius Account. Doing it this way, I have no surprise charges because Sirius just sees the card as a normal Amex card, but its not and so the charge wont go through if there are hidden charges on the account.

• A:Answer I use cards and since I have it on two cars the times are different on their expiration I add them to each account when I get the cards. When you sign up they have to have a credit card on file but I put the cards on the account number if it isn’t the total amount they only add the remaining amount.

• A:Answer Should be able to. You are paying for the service. If you only use your phone as the “player”, then I see no reason why you couldn’t use your phone to stream to your car provided you have good cell reception.

• A:Answer Sorry to hear that happened to you. I had read some reviews saying that could happen. I can see why, the cards are paper not plastic. I had the store clerk scratch mine off to be sure it was legible. (and would hope it would be replaced immediately )

• A:Answer SiriusXM is rather difficult ti gift to somebody because they want a credit card and email to set up/activate the account. If you buy $150 worth of gift SXM gift cards that should be enough to get what they refer to as the ultimate package (all channels). If the equipment he has receives any free service the paid subscription will begin at the conclusion. Straight forward to this point... It is renewall on the paid anniversary date where things can get really expensive because they auto renew.. Usually at rates 2 to 3 times higher... They will generally negotiate a lower rate if called before the actual anniversary date and even if not they will begrudgingly reduce the renewal rate or even refund if that is desired... • A:Answer We've been using prepaid cards for over 5 years. They got us by taking almost 200 out of my acct 3 days before Christmas and it took over a week to get back. I went online and changed the card # to an expired prepaid visa. That was the only way to take it off at the time. And we feed them prepaid cards. The day that Best Buy stops selling them is the last day we subscribe to Sirius.

• A:Answer It's expensive, they do have different plans. You can go online to lookup plans. You can chat with customer service online to answer all your questions you might have. I like the premium plan so I can listen on my phone, computer and car. I paid close to 300 for the year. It's the darn taxs and royalties that drive up the price. That is why every month I purchase a gift card and apply it to my account so it eases the pain when they take out the fees. I like it cause there's isn't any commercials on it and I have many many channels to choose from. Again, they do have different plans. I hope this helps you.
